Dad Site of the Week

Each week, I feature a website that I think is really cool. Most of these sites are sites I read myself, and/or already subscribe to its feeds or updates. These are sites that are doing something worthwhile, and in my opinion, other people deserve to know about them.

Too Big for Stroller - Daddy by Default Site of the Week

Site of the Week: Too Big For Stroller

Daddy by Default’s Site of the Week is Too Big For Stroller, which features pictures of kids who are clearly too big to be riding in strollers, and also a few kids who probably shouldn’t be in a Baby Bjorn either.   I found this site a few months ago and laughed my ass off. Just browse TooBigForStroller [...]

OceanHouse Media is Daddy by Default Site of the Week

OceanHouse Media – Family Friendly Apps for Kids – Site of the Week

If you read the Daddy by Default blog on a semi-regular basis (you do right!?) then you know I’m a big fan of educational apps for kids, and ebooks. I write about them often, like in this post about the best apps being ebooks, and this one about the best ipad apps for dads. But [...]

CinematicMethod is a great movie review, preview, and podcast website

CinematicMethod.com Movie Reviews & Podcast

I wasted more time on the Cinematic Method movie review website than any other site this week. Wasted isn’t really the right word, because I loved every minute of it, but I did spend way too much time there. I’ve always wanted to run a movie review website for a couple of reasons: I love watching [...]

Tina Stull Racing is Daddy by Default's Site of the Week.

Tina Stull Racing – Site of the Week

I was driving through the neighborhood yesterday, and at the end of my block I passed a girl leaning over the hood of her car, checking the oil. (After you’re done clearing the sexual innuendo and bad puns out of your head, we’ll move on.) There’s something hot, and cool, about girls who can fix [...]

HeidiCohen.com is Daddy by Default's Site of the Week

Heidi Cohen – Site of the Week

HeidiCohen.com is our site of the week this week.  Heidi is a social media consultant, and in today’s world full of self-proclaimed “experts,” she is actually the real deal. Stay at home and work at home moms and dads have to be everything to their blogs, and we often do it on a shoestring budget. [...]

Why I read Michael Hyatt, and Why You Should Too!

Why I Read Michael Hyatt, and Why You Should Too!

Before I get too far into this post, I want to say that I do not know Michael Hyatt, have never met or spoken with him, and am not trying to sell anything his company might publish or be affiliated with. I’m simply a fan of his writing. This post explains why I read Michael [...]

Dad’s Hideout – Site of the Week

This week’s Site of the Week is Dad’s Hideout, a place for dads and men who will soon become dads.  Not too long ago we wrote an article about building your own man cave in your home.  Dad’s Hideout is basically the online version of the man cave, and it’s a very cool place to [...]

Memoirs of a Single Dad – Site of the Week

This week’s Site of the Week is another dad blog called Memoirs of a (not so) Single Dad, which is a great site brought to us by Daniel Ruyter.  It features advice and humorous articles for single dads, and men who are getting back into the dating world. Though I’m sure a few of the married [...]

How to be a dad - dad blog

How to Be a Dad – Site of the Week

Daddy by Default’s site of the week is How to be a Dad, and it is one of the funniest sites I have ever visited, not just in the dad space, but on the interweb in general. The site is run by Andy and Charlie, two dads who contribute most of the content, billed as [...]

Daddy by Default’s site of the Week for this week is A Dad’s Life. A Dad’s life has been around for some time (2005) and features articles and posts focused on sharing the fatherhood experience. The blog is written from the heart and isn’t afraid to tell it like it is. No sugar coating, just [...]

GladDads – Site of the Week

Our site of the week, this week, is GladDads.com, which is run by two fathers, Danny Grubb and Joe Beckman. The site is a fantastic resource for dads, and goes well beyond what I would consider to be the standard “Dad Blog.”  While there are some funny anecdotes about each of their families as they [...]
