How to be a Dad - Daddy by Default Site of the Week

Daddy by Default’s site of the week is How to be a Dad, and it is one of the funniest sites I have ever visited, not just in the dad space, but on the interweb in general. The site is run by Andy and Charlie, two dads who contribute most of the content, billed as more of a guide on “how not to” be a dad, which, I think, makes it even more entertaining.

These guys have crazy good photoshop skills, and an ability to tap into the mind of the everydad by writing the stuff that most of us only think about, but are afraid to say.  For instance, they recently wrote an article entitled Bad Product Idea: Thongies Diaper Thongs where they introduce an idea for a new baby product that is sassy, comfy, and 100% wrong.  In another article, Charlie talks about sex, or a lack thereof, and encourages readers to email his wife so he can get some play.  I wish that would work on my end, but my wife doesn’t read email or Daddy by Default!

How to be a Dad also features an instructional diagram section, their version of parenting advice (thankfully, not written in a foreign language), filled with hilarious posts and even more pictures, like father’s day gift ideas which include brass knuckles, a necktie that looks curiously like a rope noose, and a ball gag that every father interested in kinky sex and S&M will love.

If you’re thinking about starting a dad blog, need a break from raising baby, or could use a good laugh, you should check out How to be a Dad.  I read the site everyday, and while I can’t say it’s made me a better dad, I can say that my daughter’s not the only one in the house who’s peed herself laughing now.
